Original works by Alexander Motovilov

Since 2015, International Piano Day is celebrated on the 88th day of each year, as this is the number of keys on the instrument being celebrated. Pianist and composer Alexander Motovilov along with members of Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra string section invite you to celebrate International Piano Day at the Vanemuine foyer concert on March 30th. The quartet had their first Estonian concert tour in the autumn of 2023. This concert features familiar works by Motovilov but also premieres new creations.

The April 30th Vanemuine foyer concert features two creative ensembles from the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra string section. In the first half of the concert, cellists Olja Raudonen and Camillo Cabassi will perform Barrière’s Sonata for two cellos and Elizondo’s Latin American Dances. In the second half, the string quartet of Liam Keneally, Juan José Restrepo Duarte, Hanno-Mait Maadra and Ernests Cirulis will take the stage, performing works by AntonÃn Dvořák and Astor Piazzolla.
