Good People (Head inimesed)

Good People (Head inimesed)

A tragicomedy

1983. Teet Holter, acting Director General of the Directorate of National Poetry, is in luck. He learns from a clairvoyant that the Soviet Union will collapse in seven years. Teet believes in the future and renounces the pleasures of the present. The risk pays off: in the newly independent Estonia he ascends to the top of the power ladder. However, the successful 1990s fail to reconcile Teet with the present and himself. He needs to continue making sacrifices for the future and his position in society also starts affecting his private life – his choices turn his entire life upside down.

Good People discusses how people change during pivotal times. Words vary, opinions transform, even love changes colour if necessary. But the question “What do we actually live for?” remains. If we are not who we say we are then who are we? Anyone, at any time, may face choices that determine the course of one’s life. Especially in 2020.
