Yuri Gorodetski

Born on February 25, 1983 in Mogilev, Belarus. Studied choral conducting at Mogilev Music
College. In 2007 graduated from the vocal class of V. I. Skorobogatov, Belarusian State
Academy of Music. Studied at Modena Academy of Music (Italy) in the class of Raina
Kabaivanska (2008-2009), had master classes with Dalton Baldwin in Nice (France) in 2007,
Peter Schreier in Schwarzenberg (Austria) in 2008 and studies at the Royal College in
Brussels (Belgium) in 2009-2010 under guidance of Jose van Dam. Yuri Gorodetski
participant of the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program in Washington, D.C. 2012-2014.
In 2007 he was awarded a diploma at Francisco Vinas International Singing Competition
(Barcelona, Spain). In 2008 he won the 5th prize at Queen Elisabeth International Vocal
Competition (Brussels, Belgium). In 2010 he won the 1st prize at Stanislaw Moniuszko
International Singing Competition (Warsaw, Poland). In 2012 he was awarded a special
prize of ATMA Classique at Montreal International Music Competition (Canada).
Yuri Gorodetski is a soloist of Belarus National Opera Theatre since 2006. His opera parts in
Minsk include Lensky (‘Eugene Onegin’, P. Tchaikovsky), Almaviva (‘Barber of Seville’, G.
Rossini) (conductor G. Marciano, 2011), Tamino (‘Magic Flute’, W. A. Mozart), Alfredo
(‘Traviata’, G. Verdi), God’s fool (‘Boris Godunov’, M. Musorgsky), Vladimir Igorevitch
(‘Prince Igor’, A. Borodin), Berendei (‘Snow maiden’, N. Rimsky-Korsakov). He also
performed the parts of Mozart (‘Mozart and Salieri’, N. Rimsky-Korsakov)
Conte Errico (‘La Vera Costanza’, J. Haydn) in Spain, Italy and Belgium (conductor J. L.
Cobos 2009-2012);
