Girls who were trying some witchcraft were caught in a forest near the village. In order to wash the blame off themselves, they accused the other villagers of witchcraft. The leader of the girls' group, Abigail Williams, is in love with John Proctor. The man has decided to end the relationship with her and the girl in despair also accuses Proctor’s wife, Elizabeth, of witchcraft. It starts the witch-hunt and is impossible to end.
