The author of the lyrics of the musical is Bob Merrill. The libretto was written by Peter Stone based on Robert Thoeren’s story and Billy Wilder and I. A. L. Diamond’s film Some Like It Hot.

The plot of the musical is like in the best of soap operas – one never knows who is actually who and how the story ends. Even the most presentable band could include an FBI agent as a band member and the person you wake up with is not necessarily the one you went to bed with. Everyone has their dreams and these dreams are meant to come true in the strangest of ways.
