Romeo and Juliet

(Romeo ja Julia)

A romantic tragedy.
This is a majestic love story inspired by Shakespeare that at first glance seems somewhat unexpected and impermissible. But... despite all that it is a story about immortal love that overcomes all boundaries and defies destiny to become a whole in death as well – which this time is in a jellied meat pot.

"Dear god!" shouted Romeo. "This makes me really crazy! I am crazy! This goat has robbed me of the last of my sanity! I desire only her! I want to be your sweetheart! I will go down on my knees! Be my master! How could I loved a sheep before! What vulgarity, thick wool and chubby things! This is where the queen of my soul stands! I will call thee Julia, thou beautiful goat!" /A.Kivirähk/

The premiere on 22 April 2004 at the Harbour Theatre.
