This play by a modern Irish playwright takes us to a betting shop in a small Irish town called Wexford in the end of the 1970s. This is the place where the owner of the betting shop, Steven, spends long days with his daughter Eileen, the latter’s secret admirer George, a local man called Joe and Molly who worked as a cleaning lady in the shop. The reciprocal relationships of the characters are strained by a case dating back to ten years ago when Molly’s great love Danger Doyle left her and eloped with Steven’s wife, Eileen’s mother, to London. But then rumours reached the betting house that Danger Doyle had returned to town...

This exuberant and sad-poetic relationship drama spiced with Irish humour is the Estonian origin – but London-born and London-based – director’s debut in her native theatre.

The premiere on 15 November 2008 in the Harbour Theatre.
