The children who got their first ballet experience watching "The Nutcracker" at the Vanemuine six years ago, are now at the right age to take a step from classical ballet to contemporary dance theatre.

A young Estonian composer, Tauno Aints, has created the music for the production. His sound language combines classical music with jazz, rock and hip-hop musical knacks. The stage design in designer Vladimir Anshon's vision gives a hint to the Rudyard Kipling's original "Mowgli's" place of action, but still, it is and remains to be as timeless as possible.

In the cooperation between guest choreographer Jenny MacNamara (England) and Mare Tommingas, the 21st century jungle book opens on October 30, 2010 on the Vanemuine Grand Building stage.
