This friendly and affectionate dog, Lotte, takes a trip to the south with her father-inventor Oskar and Klaus the wanderer to take the Pipo the chick, who could not keep up with his flock, to the South.

Their trip is long and exciting – a lot of things happen and many of the things of the world become clearer. People live differently in different parts of the world – there are different customs and different understandings. By showing interest and kindness all situations find a solution and a lot of new friends are made during this trip.
