"Calendar Girls" is based on a true story, that first reached the audience as a successful feature film (2003) and a couple of years later as a theatre production. Two middle-aged Yorkshire women, Chris and Annie, decide to raise money for the hospital after Annie's husband's death caused by leukaemia. The Women's Institute that they are part of, publishes an annual fund raising calendar with conservative and boring pictures of architectural memorials, failing to raise pretty much anything and even less so be of help to anyone. The ladies come up with a desperate idea to pose naked for the calendar in order to raise more money. Starting a modelling career of such character is not easy for the dignified ladies of the small town...
Premiere on March 15, 2012 at the Vanemuine Grand Building.
